Term 3 in Lomond Class

Here we are at the end of another busy term in Lomond and it’s so nice that we have had some sunny weather to get out and enjoy. Here are a few of our highlights from the term:

Our first topic this term was ‘Looking after ourselves’. We did lots of activities to explore keeping ourselves clean, going to the dentist, eating healthy food and doing exercise.

In March we started a block of horse riding at the RDA in Balerno. It was great fun to go on the bus together and to meet all the horses. We have had the chance to ride and interact with Thumper, Oreo, Tonto, Timo and Flynn. The adults were very impressed with how confidently we took to the activity and how well we were able to sit up straight. We also enjoyed playing some games with the horses such as ‘What’s the time Mr Wolf?’ and shouting commands to them.  We still have a couple more weeks after the holidays which is very exciting.

Since the weather has improved some of us have managed to get outside on the bikes. It is great fun and we look forward to building our skills in this area after the Easter break.

Finally we have celebrated and explored some different key events over the term, including Chinese New Year, Science Week, Burn’s Day, Storytelling Week and Fairtrade. Wow, how do we fit it all in?! Enjoy a few final photos and we look forward to sharing further news in the Summer term.
