Broad General Education

The Curriculum for Excellence is the curriculum followed in all Scottish local authority schools. In Beatlie the majority of our pupils are working at a pre-early level. The pupils benefit from accessing this curriculum in a highly personalised way. There is a multi-disciplinary team around the child to support every aspect of his or her development.

The curriculum is adapted to meet the needs of pupils and focuses on providing meaningful experiences using a variety of learning opportunities to foster independence and communication. In line with Curriculum for Excellence, pupils receive their entitlements to a broad general education from 3 - 15 before moving into a senior phase which offers increased personalisation and choice and allows learning through relevant real life contexts.
