Rights Respecting

Beatlie is A Rights Respecting School and participates in the Rights Respecting Schools Award Programme.

The Rights Respecting Schools Award (RRSA) recognises achievement in putting the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC (opens new window)) at the heart of a school's planning, policies, practice and ethos. A rights-respecting school not only teaches about children's rights but also models rights and respect in all its relationships: between teachers / adults and pupils, between adults and between pupils. For more information about UNICEF, visit UNICEF (opens new window) and for more information about the award, visit Rights Respecting Schools Award (opens new window)

We were awarded the Gold Award in January 2018, one of only 380 schools to achieve this (as of that date).  In May 2021, we were re-accredited and sustained our Gold Award, receiving some very positive and welcome feedback.  You can view both reports on our Achievements page.  Please have a look at the School Blog to see how we get involved with lots of different activities to support  children at a local, national and global level.
