Outdoor Learning
At Beatlie we recognise that Outdoor Learning is a vital experience for all of our children and young people. Research has shown that people with additional support needs may benefit from how the outdoor environment relieves anxiety and stress, develops social skills, motivates learning across the curriculum and allows them to be practical, responsible, and productive. It can provide a motivating sensory experience that encourages new interactions and opportunities.
We have established outdoor learning experiences for our primary, secondary and nursery departments where pupils are encouraged to share and learn from each other.
We are currently developing our outdoor spaces and introducing new and stimulating resources to further enhance the learning experiences in this calm and natural learning environment. Such experiences inspire passion, motivating our children and young people to become successful learners and to develop as healthy, confident, enterprising and responsible citizens.
